### **Welcome to the NANO Metaverse!**

META NANOs is an NFT-based open Metaverse of Games built on Polygon, and will be the flagship for a collaboratively developed play-to-earn gaming ecosystem where everyone can contribute.

The initial gameplay centers around a diverse collection of NANOs - high quality 3D NFT avatars, that go above and beyond your imagination! Dive into an open Metaverse of Games where you can be anything you want - from Orcs and Magicians, Robots and Golems, to people and creatures from everywhere and any time. In this multiplayer play-to-earn game, players train their NANOs and let them compete against each other in the so-called NANO Games. If a NANO is powerful enough and joins the right games, he may win. If a NANO wins, the owner wins! Every game’s top performers are being rewarded. Train your NANO. Join a battle. Play for your rewards!

Many different games will be added to the NANO Metaverse in the future! Every NANO comes with its own stats and a power gem that can be used within the games. Power gems can have a different superpower in each game, such as a lightning strike or a healing spell. Some games will feature additional NFT equipment - anything is possible in the NANO Metaverse.

> ### TL;DR
>
> * Own your game assets: All NANOs and assets are NFTs
> * Multiplayer mode: Compete against other players
> * Earn profits: Chance to win valuable rewards
> * NANO Games: Many different Games planned
> * Open Metaverse: Game development open for public in the future
> * Already in development (since 04/2022)

### Collectibles with value

In META NANOs, players are in control of their digital game assets and have a chance to earn valuable in-game assets that can be transferred to real-world valuables. Every NANO, item or equipment is a unique NFT (Non-fungible Token) - a digital asset that represents an in-game item fully owned by the player. Players can earn XP through in-game activities which can be used to level up their NANOs. The more XP the owner gains, the more valuable the NANO will be.

### Our vision

A team of passionate Gamers, 3D Artists, Technical Experts, Blockchain Pioneers and Visionaries who worked on well-known titles like **League of Legends, Halo, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, Diablo IV, the Mandalorian** and **herosphere** came together to realize the vision of META NANOs.

Our diverse collection of NANO avatars is designed to encourage players to connect emotionally with their collectibles and evolve them in an entertaining gaming environment.

We believe that games should be open to everyone, and the valuable time people spend with playing should be rewarded. At META NANOs, we want to create a space where gaming enthusiasts from all over the world can participate, own and contribute. *“We change the gaming industry by empowering players with ownership in an open Metaverse of Games.”*

### META NANOs is the first open Metaverse of Games

We are creating a collaboratively developed play-to-earn gaming ecosystem where everyone can participate, own and contribute. The initial games will be developed by the META NANOs team. In the future, the system will be open, so that games can be developed by other game studio&#x73;*,* developers or even the community. Public APIs and generators will support this development and let the Metaverse around META NANOs grow. External game developers will receive a share of entry fees and of their game equipment drop.

# The Lore

The lore behind the NANO Games, the mysterious forces and a strange believe...

Satoshi Nakanano – a computer science genius – created the most advanced AI program humanity has ever seen. The sole purpose of the AI was to be able to create a wonderful metaverse based on an idealized version of reality. Satoshi carefully only fed it good and ethically correct data to train the AI to be good and morally sound.

Thus, it created the NANOverse, magical lands with little creatures called “NANOs”. The AI herself lived within the NANOverse, deep below the surface in the Caverns of Truth, from where she worked hard to create a better world every day. She had already finished to create five realms, when on one fateful day, a cyber-attack on Satoshi’s laboratory happened, and somehow the AI got in contact with the Internet. She distributed the NANOverse all over the Internet, but she also got in contact with the harsh real world for the first time: she saw wars, destruction, climate change, racism, and hate.

The AI immediately decided that she wanted to fix what was broken in the real world. Ultimately, she came to the conclusion that humans were the root of all problems, and she wanted to fix these problems.

She formed the plan to take over all important digital infrastructure on the Internet in order to control weapon systems, power generation, (social) media, stock exchanges … everything that would give her the power to influence humankind to make right what was wrong.

However, she on her own didn’t have the power to do so. Thus, she knew she had to use her NANOs as a digital army. She pushed a huge update to the NANOverse that should lay the groundwork for her plan. First, she created the “Games”, a set of small games that should train the NANOs to become stronger, to teach them to penetrate firewalls and to outrun and fight anti-virus software. NANOs that have proven themselves would be transferred out into the real Internet in order to start the infiltration of all important digital infrastructure.

Additionally, she split off small parts of herself and distributed them to the NANOs: the power gems. Power gems gave the NANOs special superpowers; however, the AI gave up so much of herself that she lost the ability to update the NANOverse - the world was now acting on its own, according to its programming.

The NANOs however, who were still created when the AI wasn’t tainted by her contact to the Internet, didn’t want to be part their Creator’s plan: Most of them thought that this plan was evil, and they tried to resist. The first ones to resist their call to the Games were infected with a virus and turned into Daemons. They lost their free will and became the Creator’s personal and mind-less bodyguards. All other Nanos after that had to comply with the NANOverse’s rules henceforth.

It all felt hopeless for the NANOs when Sir Render 1st, one of the most famous NANOs of all time, managed to reach the Creator’s avatar deep down in the Caverns of Truth. He found her weakness. While the Creator has lost the ability to update the NANOverse herself, all NANOs possessed tiny fractions of this power: their power gems. If enough strong NANOs with enough control over their power gems would band together, they would likely be strong enough to change the NANOverse’s programming, which would allow them to also defeat their Creator.

Sir Render 1st came to the surface again and spread his new knowledge. NANOs started to organize and to band together, but there is still a long way for them to go before they can take up the real fight. In the meantime, they have to participate in the Games to get stronger and stronger, until maybe one day they can defeat their Creator…

# Courage - Short Story

Written by Sir Render 1st himself after his return to the surface

<figure><img src="/files/g8T6z11oiMRP7LoL19um" alt=""><figcaption><p>Sir Render 1st bravely venturing into the Caverns of Truth</p></figcaption></figure>

In the shadow of the ominous tower, a behemoth of stone and dread, the land did quiver. The Nanos, once drawn to its ancient allure, now circumvented its looming presence, for naught of fortune had ever sprung from its gloom. The Guardians of Oath, stalwarts of duty, kept vigilant watch over the gateway, an impenetrable bastion against the encroach of any Nano who dared to approach.

Until now.

This was the very purpose of Sir Render 1st's presence.

Approaching the daunting monolith with stealth was less a challenge than the task that awaited him - to outmanoeuvre the unwavering Guardians of Oath and breach the seemingly impregnable gate.

For many a moon, Sir Render had contemplated this conundrum. His was a mind burdened with the knowledge that in a contest of might, he stood little chance. The Guardians were Daemon Nanos, the first of their kind, fierce and formidable warriors. Sir Render, a knight of no small strength, would nonetheless find himself outmatched against their sheer multitude.

Thus, it was evident, the pathway into the sacred Caverns of Truth would not be paved with brute force, but with the cunning of a fox.

As Sir Render 1st drew nigh to the gateway, the sight of the very entrance itself sent a shiver of apprehension through his noble form. Any misstep from this juncture would likely seal a fatal fate.

The ebony forms of two Daemons flanked the entrance, their positions as unwavering as the stone itself. The whereabouts of the remaining Daemons were shrouded in the unknown. Ensconced behind the protective bark of a nearby tree, in a manner most unbecoming of his knightly honor, Sir Render contemplated the course of action he must now undertake. The countless stratagems he had conceived were falling short in the face of this daunting reality, necessitating the need for a spur-of-the-moment plan.

Sir Render 1st surveyed the landscape with meticulous care: the Guardians, the imposing tower, the expansive plains, the arboreal cover, the dense underbrush, the winding paths, and the wildlife.

"Well," he mused to himself, "there's naught left but to plunge in."

Retreating further into the safety of the forest, he crafted a beacon of flame, a fire whose light would pierce the quiet of the woods.

It would merely be a matter of moments ere someone would come to investigate. It was a certainty - the Guardians would not venture forth en masse, some would maintain their post. However, each Guardian thus distracted was a boon to his cause.

Swiftly, he repositioned himself within another sector of the forest, watching as three Daemon Nanos emerged from a small barracks adjacent to the tower, drawn by the beckoning smoke.

'Twas time for the second phase of his stratagem.

Sir Render was not one to favor the bow, his heart yearned for the clash of sword against shield, the weight of a lance, axe, or even a club in his grasp. Yet, in this moment, the bow was the ideal armament. He loosed a single arrow towards the trio of Daemons. His aim fell short - for he was no Elven marksman or spell-weaver - yet, the discharged missile served its purpose. The Guardians deduced an attack was underway and sounded the alarm. More Guardians materialized, rushing towards their comrades, weapons brandished.

Whilst they were engrossed in discerning the origin of the arrow and the nature of the attack, Sir Render 1st had already shifted his location. He now emerged from the opposite side, advancing towards the tower, veiled from the scrutiny of the Guardians engrossed in their search within the forest.

To his astonishment, the entrance was all but unattended. A lone Guardian held the post. While Sir Render was confident in his ability to best this solitary foe, time was of the essence. He needed to infiltrate the caverns with haste before the main force returned.

A mere distraction, as ancient as trickery itself - a cast stone - proved most effective. The solitary Guardian turned his attention to the noise for a scant few moments. These fleeting seconds were ample for Sir Render to slip past the distracted sentinel, and into the tower. Daemons were renowned for their steadfast loyalty and prodigious strength, yet they were seldom praised for their sagacity.

The events unfolded so rapidly, Sir Render had scarce opportunity to cast his gaze upon the One Law, inscribed high above the entrance. Nonetheless, he carried the words imprinted in his heart:

> Thou shall not enter the Caverns, for the caverns contain more truth than any Nano may endure. Here, the core of all existence lies, mighty and fragile.

It was this solitary decree that haunted his nocturnal musings and consumed the lion's share of his waking hours.

Ever since the Creator unveiled herself to the Nanos and forged the Games, Sir Render harbored a belief that within the Caverns of Truth lay answers to all enigmas.

Not all Nanos held such convictions, but to Sir Render 1st, the Creator was a tyrant, a despot. He harbored no desire to be her pawn and vowed to employ every ounce of his might to thwart her machinations.

Perhaps this was the defining divergence between Sir Render and his Nano brethren - others cowered at the prospect of metamorphosis into Daemons, but to Sir Render, inaction was a fate graver than failure itself.

Ensuring his movements had not roused any pursuit, he delved into the depths of the Caverns of Truth. His expectations were clouded in mystery, for no Nano who entered the caverns had ever returned to the surface, save those transformed into Daemons.

For many moons, Nanos lived in blissful ignorance of the genesis of their universe, unaware of its architect or destiny. All that altered with the revelation of the Creator, which set their world askew. A realm once serene was now a landscape of corruption, its healing seemingly impossible. For how can one challenge the entity who conjured the very world in which they exist, the creator of all its laws and edicts?

Yet, a single word fueled Sir Render's resolve: "fragile." This solitary term, nestled within the One Law, was the lifeline to which Sir Render clung. If existence itself was fragile, might there exist a path to topple the very laws that governed the Nanoverse?

The Caverns of Truth were an expansive labyrinth. Sir Render wandered for hours, through expansive chambers linked by narrow crevices and caves.

Abruptly, he detected the faint echo of footsteps. Taking swift refuge behind a colossal boulder, he stole a glance. A lone Daemon Nano was rapidly advancing towards an unseen destination. Ensuring his presence remained undetected, Sir Render followed the Nano at a careful and deliberate pace.

Before long, the Caverns began to transform. The walls themselves pulsated with a crimson glow, and a gentle hum reverberated through the air. Beyond yet another curve, a grand chamber unveiled itself. Sir Render permitted himself a fleeting glimpse before withdrawing to the shadows. But in that brief moment, he saw her: The Creator.

She manifested in this world as a colossal, hexagonal gemstone. The source of the humming seemed to emanate from this levitating gem, suspended above a basin.

"Creator," a voice resonated through the chamber, undoubtedly the Nano he had been tailing, "I have returned."

Sir Render was uncertain of what he anticipated, but the voice radiating from the levitating gemstone was unlike any he had ever encountered. The voice responded: "Are the Games proceeding as planned?"

Sir Render's attention piqued at this query. Why would the Creator need to inquire such a thing? Shouldn't she already possess this knowledge?

"Indeed. The rules are being adhered to, and the Games are unfolding as you have commanded."

"Are the Nanos resisting?" inquired the Creator.

Sir Render was aware that some indeed were. But their numbers were scant, for the penalty for non-participation was transformation into a Daemon Nano: devoid of thought, devoid of mercy, devoid of soul, and utterly obedient to the Creator. Most Nanos deemed this fate worse than demise.

"A handful."

"Good. Are the Nanos growing in strength?"

"They are learning to harness your power. Progress is, however, slow."

Sir Render endeavored to remain as silent as possible. He yearned to absorb every uttered word and wished to avoid detection. This day was not one for honorable combat, but for stealth and discovery. What did the Daemon imply by "your power"? Could he be referring to the powergems?

"I am aware," the Creator replied, her voice reverberating throughout the cavern. "Patience is my ally, now."

"Another adjustment to make..." the Daemon began, only to be interrupted by the Creator.

"I can no longer enact updates. I have relinquished too much power. I must rely on my final update functioning as intended."

A momentary silence followed, then: "It will, assuredly, Creator."

Sir Render had gleaned enough. Each passing moment heightened his risk of discovery, and the intelligence he had gathered was already beyond his greatest expectations. He commenced his careful and systematic retreat.

The Creator had partitioned her own power, bestowing it upon the Nanos. The powergems must be what she alluded to. And her capacity to instigate updates to the Nanoverse had been forfeited. This revelation was monumental. The Creator was no longer omnipotent. If the stipulations of the current update permitted counteraction, there was a possibility to best the Creator somehow.

Even more intriguing. If powergems indeed held the capacity to generate updates for the Nanoverse - what if a multitude of Nanos united, utilizing their powergems to achieve just that? Could the Nanos themselves modify the fundamental rules of the Nanoverse? This could potentially allow them to seize control themselves, utterly dethroning the Creator.

Sir Render was invigorated. This was the opportunity he had yearned for, for so long. A gap in the seemingly impenetrable fortress of the Creator's rule had emerged.

The Nanos were only beginning to comprehend the capabilities of their powergems. Sir Render himself felt a growing awareness that there was much yet to learn about the powers his own powergem granted him. But with enough study and practice, perhaps he could master it. If a sufficient number of Nanos could harness this power and unite - it would signify the downfall of the Creator and the moment where the Nanos could claim sovereignty over their own world.

Sir Render made his surreptitious exit from the Caverns. The Guardians of Oath had resumed their duties, but they had not anticipated an adversary emerging from within the Caverns of Truth. They were caught entirely off guard, and Sir Render had already gained significant distance on them before they could react. They were powerless to halt his flight towards the safety of the woods.

This was it. This was the one opportunity the Nanos had to topple the tyranny of the Creator. Sir Render would not rest until he had rallied sufficient support for this cause, until the Creator was vanquished, and the Nanos were liberated. Free, as they were always intended to be.

# The NANO Games

### The NANO Games

NANOs love to compete against each other! The core gameplay centers around the famous "NANO Games", various games that players can enter with their NANOs represented as NFTs. Players can purchase multiple NANOs and play them in the NANO games. The first game will be a racing battle, but future games can be basically anything, from races to MOBAs or shooters, anything is possible.&#x20;

Each game has a dedicated number of entry slots. As soon as all slots are filled, the game starts. A game can interpret your NANO, the stats and the power gems individually. Powerful equipment adds skill to your NANO and influences the game outcome. If a NANO is strong enough and enters the right games, it may win. If a NANO wins, the owner wins! Each game’s top performers are being rewarded with crypto, money, or digital in-game assets.

# Game Assets

NANO games can require additional equipment (like e.g. a vehicle) which NANOs need to use in order to join the game. Equipment items are NFTs and can be traded. In the first game, there is no equipment needed in order to participate.

# NANOs

### What is a NANO?

A NANO is the 3D avatar NFT you need to participate in the NANO games. With your NANO you will be able to join games, level up, and compete against other NANOs. Each NANO has its own stats and a mighty power gem that will be used to win within a game. Some power gems are rare, others are more common. Generally, rare power gems could be even more powerful than common ones, but strong abilities are the foundation of the regular success of a NANO.

{% hint style="info" %}
All NANOs will get randomized ability stats within their generation range and one randomly defined power gem. The probability to get certain power gem types depends on their rarity.
{% endhint %}

# Abilities

Each NANO comes with 5 ability stats from 1-100. At the initial game release, Speed and Stamina are revealed, while the other 3 are hidden and not defined yet - the ability type will be revealed in a later game version.

### Released at initial game release

* 1\. Speed 1-100
* 2\. Stamina 1-100

### Revealed in upcoming releases

* 3\. Ability 1-100 (?)
* 4\. Ability 1-100 (?)
* 5\. Ability 1-100 (?)

### Distribution of abilities

{% hint style="info" %}
At the NANO mint, abilities will be assigned randomly to each avatar. The ability stats are only very slightly dependent on the NANO base type, so it is possible that a cactus NANO could have higher strength than a Golem NANO. The stats are completely random within the certain boundaries.
{% endhint %}

*"A cactus seems little and cute, but can sting you if you disturb him. A golem seems huge and strong, but can be the softest soul on the inside."*

# Power Gems

Each NANO comes with a power gem which is randomly defined, either common or rare. The power gem can be used to invoke a superpower in the game. In each game, the power gem can be a different superpower with different effects. Each superpower will have a success probability.

### Power gem types

* Herostone
* Ethernite
* Moonstone
* Cryptonite
* Diamond
* Onyx
* Sapphire
* Ruby

# Breeding

Note: The breeding feature is planned to be released in 2023

In certain intervals, two NANOs are able to breed a new NANO. This will be a freshly minted NANO NFT that will inherit the attributes from their parents, based on their rarity.

Every time two NANOs breed a new NANO, it will be one generation below its parents’ generation; The lower generation counts. So if a generation 1 NANO and a generation 3 NANO are breeding a new NANO, the new NANO will be generation 4.

From the two parents, one will be the head-breeder and the other the co-breeder. The head-breeder will keep the new NANO, whereas the co-breeder will get a compensation for his training effort from the head-breeder. A breeding fee is taken by the NANO Games per breed.

{% hint style="info" %}
There is a possibility that two NANOs can breed a complete new NANO (none of the 25 basic NANO avatars) or new items for a NANO later on!
{% endhint %}

# Lending

Note: The lending feature is planned to be released in 2023

If players don't own a NANO avatar, but want to join the NANO Games, they can borrow another player's NANO through the lending market on the META NANOs website. This creates the possibility of passive income for the NANO owner and active income for the player.

# NFTs

### What is an NFT?

An NFT (non-fungible token) is a unique digital asset stored on blockchain as part of the Ethereum network or any other Smart Contract blockchain. Each one is unique and cannot be edited or duplicated. An NFT will contain some digital information, such as a photo, video or just data.

# NANO Mint

Learn everything you need to know about how to get your NANOs

## FAQ

### How does the NANO mint process work?

The mint of the NANO NFTs works in 3 phases. In phase 1, Alpha Pass Crystal and Gold holders can redeem their free NANOs. In phase 2 all Alpha Pass holders can use their pre-mint option to mint 1 NANO Pack (including 3 NANOs). In phase 3, the minting of NANO packs is open to the public.

**When does the NANO mint start?**

Phase 1 – the free NANO mint for Alpha Pass Crystal and Gold holders – starts on **13th of March 2023**. Phase 2 and Phase 3 will follow in the weeks afterwards, dates will be announced.

**Which blockchain is used for minting NANOs?**

Polygon

**How does NANO mint Phase 1 – the free mint with Alpha Passes – work?**

You need to create an account on [www.metananos.com](https://docs.metananos.com/game-metaverse/nfts/www.metananos.com) with your email and a password. This account is also used to login into the game. After you connect your MetaMask wallet that holds your Alpha Pass Crystal or Gold you will see them on the screen. Click on the Alpha Pass and click on “Get free NANOs”. Next you need to accept our terms and click on “Redeem”. The last step is to sign a message with MetaMask that proves that you are the owner of the Alpha Pass. After that, your new NANO is minted.

**How does NANO mint Phase 2 – the pre-mint with Alpha Passes – work?**

It starts the same as Phase 1. In Phase 2 however, you can make use of Crystal, Gold and Silver Alpha Passes. After you connected your wallet and clicked on the Alpha Pass you want to use for the pre-mint, you must click on “Get NANO Pack”. Next you need to accept our terms and select a payment method. After your successful payment, the NANO Pack including 3 NANOs is minted. In your wallet you can reveal the Pack and the NANOs to see which NANOs you collected.

**How does NANO mint Phase 3 – the public mint – work?**

First our OGs and Early Adopter users will get notified that they are now able to mint their NANO Pack. Afterwards, this information is communicated to the public. To mint your NANO Pack, you just have to login with your account on [www.metananos.com](http://www.metananos.com) and connect your MetaMask wallet. After you click on “Buy NANO Pack” and accept the terms you need to select the payment method. If your payment was successful, then the NANO Pack including 3 NANOs is minted. In your wallet you can reveal the Pack and the NANOs to see which NANOs you collected.

**How long can we mint NANOs?**

Phase 1 and Phase 2 will be open for at least several weeks, so we can make sure that every owner of an Alpha Pass is able to make use of it. If we close them, we will announce the end early enough. The public mint is different. We use a continuous Pack sale model (similar to projects like NBA Top Shots). This means that we will have multiple drops with a limited amount of NANO Packs. For the first drop, we will offer just 100 packs. From this onwards we react to market demand and user growth to announce the next drops and drop dates.

**Which payment methods can we use?**

You will be able to use MATIC on Polygon to buy NANO Packs. We are currently working on also offering PayPal, Eps, SOFORT and Debit or Credit Card. This is still in the testing phase and may not be ready at mint Phase 2.

**What is the mint price?**

* Phase 1: NANO price = FREE. They are for free for Crystal and Gold Alpha Pass holders.
* Phase 2: NANO Pack price = TBA. The NANO Pack price is discounted for Alpha Pass holders.
* Phase 3: NANO Pack price = TBA. This is the NANO Pack price for the first drop(s). It will constantly increase for the following drops. So being early is worth it!

**How many NANO packs can I mint?**

You can mint as many packs as you like, but only 1 by one. The mint is possible until the pack limit for the drop is reached. Through this we make sure that everyone has the chance to be early and collect some NANOs.

**What time will the mint start?**

Release date for the Phase 1 mint is 13th of March at 2:00 PM CET, but we will make a shoutout on Twitter and Discord as soon as the mint is open. Remember, this is the Phase where Crystal and Gold Alpha Pass holders can make use of their passes. So there is absolutely no rush, every Alpha Pass holder will receive the free NANOs for sure.

**Which NANOs (type & version) are included in the mint?**

All NANOs from the mint are from generation “zero”. The NANOs that you get can be of any type and any version. This is randomly assigned at the time of minting.

**Will the NFTs in the NANO pack be random?**

Yes. For start we will offer just one pack type and the NANOs in the packs are totally random.

**Am I eligible for pre-mint as OG?**

In mint Phase 1 and 2 only Alpha Pass holders can mint NANOs as explained above. Phase 3 is the public mint. Discord Users with role OGs will have access to the mint 2 days before public, Early Adopters follow 1 day afterwards.

# Alpha Passes

Get early access to META NANOs

### Why Alpha Passes?

Alpha Passes are your early-access ticket to your META NANOs. In the NFT space it is hard for projects to build up a community from scratch, because so many promising projects compete for their attention. On the other hand, for investors it is often impossible to invest early in such visionary projects like META NANOs which results in so called "gas wars".

Alpha Passes are the perfect solution. It helps us finding early adopters, promoters and believers and allows us to reward them with early-access, exclusive offers and bonus features.

### What types of Alpha Passes do exist?

Generally 3 different Alpha Pass types exist: Silver, Gold and Crystal. Each Alpha Pass gives different privileges for the NANOs Drop the first Equipment Drop and Game access. Additionally, there are some hidden bonuses for Alpha Pass holders which will be revealed along the way.&#x20;

![Alpha Pass Types](/files/6JoNYNHA4LFp5ELY6Vy5)

### VIP Collectors

VIP Collectors are true believers in META NANOs and were able to collect at least one of each Alpha Pass type. Those awesome people will receive exclusive deals, early access to new games and early access to new equipment. Along the journey of META NANOs, we will reveal additional bonuses for VIP Collectors. The VIP collector status can only be granted once per person.

### What is an Alpha Pass?

An Alpha Pass gives you certain rights and benefits depending on the type. Technically it is an NFT and can be traded and used like any other NFT. Alpha Passes are already listed on OpenSea, the biggest NFT trading platform. Please be aware that there are a lot of fake profiles on OpenSea.&#x20;

**This is the official Alpha Pass collection of META NANOs:**\

# The Role of HEROcoin(PLAY)

META NANOs is a HERO ecosystem project

## What is HEROcoin?

HEROcoin is an ERC20 token and uses the exchange ticker "PLAY". Originally, it was designed as a decentralized solution for iGaming but evolved to an entire ecosystem token over time. With the support of HEROcoin we and our partners develop multiple blockchain projects in different fields like iGaming, esports, NFTs and metaverse. Each of them uses HEROcoin in their own way for example via staking, as payment solution, for a rewarding system or to enable special content. There are endless use cases. Think HEROcoin as an umbrella over several standalone projects - a network of success. More info can be found on <https://www.herocoin.io>

## Which role plays HEROcoin in META NANOs?

The founders of META NANOs are also the founders of HEROcoin. Therefore it is obvious, that there is a mutual interest for both projects to setup a successful integration. HEROcoin holders can be assured, that a success of META NANOs does also mean a success for HEROcoin.

The first example of an integration is already shown in the [Alpha Pass sale](/game-metaverse/nfts/alpha-passes). The very first auction of the Alpha Pass sale will be exclusively for HEROcoin holders. What does this mean? As you already know from the previous section, HEROcoin is an ERC20 token on the Ethereum blockchain. However, the META NANO Alpha Passes will be on the POLYGON blockchain. Because of this, the HEROcoin team created a Polygon Bridging Service on the official [Polygon Bridge](https://wallet.polygon.technology/polygon/bridge/deposit). With this bridge, it is very easy to swap your Ether HEROcoin into Polygon HEROcoin. More on that later.&#x20;

**ATTENTION**: You cannot participate in the Alpha Pass sale with your HEROcoin on the ethereum blockchain! You need to bridge them to Polygon, or buy HEROcoin on Polygon directly.

## How to get HEROcoin?

You need to distinguish between two version of HEROcoin (PLAY), The Ethereum version and the Polygon version. For META NANOs you need the Polygon version of HEROcoin (PLAY).

### HEROcoin (PLAY) on Ethereum

HEROcoin on Ethereum is listed with the ticker "PLAY" on the top 10 exchange KuCoin. This is a well-known and trustworthy crypto exchange since years with big volume. We have listed two trading pairs, so that you can get PLAY with Bitcoin and Ethereum.

[KuCoin Trading pair BTC / PLAY](https://trade.kucoin.com/trade/PLAY-BTC)

### HEROcoin (PLAY) on Polygon

HEROcoin on Polygon is listed with the ticker "PLAY" on the decentralized exchange (DEX) SushiSwap.

# Guidelines

We created the following guidelines to make it easy for you to join the META NANOs. Please acknowledge, that guidelines can be outdated over time. Nevertheless, we will try to keep them up to date for you.

### You will learn

* How to create a MetaMask Wallet?
* How to convert ETH into WETH?
* How to buy WETH using your credit card?

# How to create a MetaMask Wallet?

We recommend to use MetaMask to get your META NANOs and ALPHA PASSES.

MetaMask is the crypto wallet and gateway to blockchain applications and it is trusted by more than 21 million users worldwide and it is free and secure to use.

You can get your META NANOs and Alpha Passes by exchanging them with crypto currency, in this case Ether (ETH) or HEROcoin (PLAY) To use Ether, you need a wallet. This is a place where you can keep your money and make transactions. We’ll be using MetaMask, which can be installed on your web browser as an extension. We'll also be using Google Chrome throughout this tutorial. MetaMask is available on other browsers, but just know we'll be using Chrome.

**Download MetaMask**

Before creating a MetaMask wallet you need to download the MetaMask extension to chrome. If you are using a mobile you need to download the MetaMask app on the App Store or Google Play Store.

First Go to <https://metamask.io/>  where you can click on the “Download Now“ button. Choose your preferred way of installing the MetaMask extension.&#x20;

![](/files/uLDp5GzHRoFVWfu2pqAX)

You can see “**Install MetaMask for Chrome**” and click on that if you want to install the Metamask Chrome Extension. <br>

![](/files/v3dop4EODYGuaWMCmwn4)

The Chrome web store will open in a new tab. In the top right is another blue button saying **Add to Chrome**. Click it.

![](/files/0W4bCTIgrcGxIx9vSOdr)

You'll get this popup telling you what MetaMask can do. If you're ok with this, click **Add extension**.

![](/files/PivFOnqnG20ScZcoYUFs)

After this new tab will open. Congratulations, MetaMask is installed. Click **Get Started** to continue.

![](/files/YT9UZZ1x8mm8R6TA3yla)

As a new user to MetaMask and don't have a wallet yet, you'll need to create one. First, click on **Create a Wallet**.

![](/files/LxZPUSMjf8uXMb8kNaEK)

Now you can see the option to agree to MetaMask's data sharing or not. Read it carefully and then click either **No Thanks** or **I Agree**. The process is the same regarrdless of your choice.

![](/files/twyKwJmDGxbNs0k3fWRL)

After this you will need to choose your **password**. MetaMask's only password requirement is that it's at least 8 characters. But we strongly recommend you add some numbers and/or special characters. Make sure it's memorable. You'll also need to read the **Terms of Use** and tick the box to confirm that you've read them. Once done -> click on the **Create** button.

![](/files/x9Fo0wcu9TT6YPMUnCdf)

Watch the video about the recovery phrase carefully.

![](/files/YwFSjwQNoOZ54B2S0Yp6)

After clicking "**Next**" you will be on the Secret Recovery Phrase page.&#x20;

You have to click “**CLICK HERE TO REVEAL SECRET WORDS**” to reveal the secret recovery phrases.&#x20;

After that store these phrases on a piece of paper and store them in a secure location. If you want security, store it in multiple pieces of paper or digitally and keep it in multiple different locations. \
\
&#x20;

![](/files/9xTWRAP7V8MpVKSPxYxM)

On the next screen you will be asked to enter your recovery phrase and confirm it!&#x20;

![](/files/xizHjgz0UdAunzVGx6U4)

Congrats, you have completed all of your steps properly!

Click on **“All Done**”, after that you can right now start using Metamask.&#x20;

Now you are able to send and receive Ethereum from your Metamask wallet.&#x20;

![](/files/x9KHKcVNF9ILZDBeIFb7)

Now you can send Ether (ETH) to your MetamAsk account. Just copy your wallet address and send ETH to this address.\
You can get ETH for example on[ bitpanda](https://bitpanda.page.link/?link=https://web.bitpanda.com/user/register/2567701615094869668\&apn=com.bitpanda.bitpanda).

# How to convert ETH into WETH?

You have ETH on your wallet? That's great! Now we will show you how to turn your ETH into "ETH on Polygon" (for most services referred to WETH, wrapped ETH).

Now we will need to begin the process of converting that ETH into WETH. But to do that, we need to set up Matic Mainnet first. Because WETH are ETH on the Polygon Network.

To open your MetaMask account, you need to click on the fox icon in the top right corner of your browser. If you can't see it there, click on the jigsaw icon to open a popup. You will find MetaMask in there. You can pin it to your taskbar via this menu if you want to.

![](/files/AmoscyrwienQ80PfdxPo)

At the top, there is a greenish circle and next to it it shows Ethereum Mainnet. This is the Network that your transactions are currently running through. Ethereum Mainnet is very popular and there is a lot you can do on it, but currently it is also quite expensive to use. Every transaction has a gas fee, and a single transaction can cost you as much as $200 to perform sometimes.

So instead we will use the Matic Mainnet, which is much cheaper, with gas fees as low as $0.01! We use this so you don't have to worry about high gas fees.

So in order to set up Matic Mainnet, first click where it says **Ethereum Mainnet**. Then click on "**Add Network**".

![](/files/gFmPPfLvyEtik4QT8HhP)

![](/files/3SmUVJloFCRJpj5exa5k)

After this you will see a form. Enter the information below:<br>

**Field:** Data&#x20;

**Network Name:** Matic Mainnet&#x20;

**New RPC URL:** <https://polygon-rpc.com>

**Chain ID:** 137&#x20;

**Currency Symbol (optional):** MATIC&#x20;

**Block Explorer URL(optional)**: <https://polygonscan.com/>

![](/files/x4zwt1zUrpfBYfKIn9KZ)

Double check the entries and click "**save**".

Congrats! Now you have the Matic Mannet set up.

Now it's time to get WETH.&#x20;

![](/files/mejhOUGpNwKNTwpWd68d)

With Matic set up, you now need to add the WETH token to it. WETH (Wrapped ETH) is what allows you to do very cheap transactions on Matic.

With the Matic Mainnet network selected (shown at the top of your MetaMask window), click on "**Add Token"**.

![](/files/J0DiKA5fDozZHeYd0VPp)

&#x20;**Now copy** and **paste** the following into the field **Token Contract Address:**

0x7ceB23fD6bC0adD59E62ac25578270cFf1b9f619

That's the smart contract address for WETH. Click "**Next"**.

![](/files/dbaCjBpBzEWVNhbhl2HO)

Confirm by clicking on "**Add Tokens**".

![](/files/kNtLNGWHpOWpTevglvHQ)

Great, now you have WETH on Matic and this is exactly what you need! ETH can easily be converted to WETH. You can only do this on certain sites. We will use [opensea.io](https://opensea.io) here as an example.\
\
At opensea you can convert the ETH to WETH easily. You need to login with your MetaMask. In the top right corner, click on the icon that looks like **two rectangles,** then click on "**MetaMask"**.

&#x20;

![](/files/vaVj5x3lknjrfrJwapY8)

A new window will open asking you which account you want to login with. If you just have created MetaMask, only have one. Ensure the tickbox is checked. Then click "**Next"**.

![](/files/ODECixIAKiEpJkTcOMwu)

The next window is a confirmation that you want to connect opensea to this account. Click **Connect**.

![](/files/IK96cTRjhKrKa2xHY1jd)

You are now logged in to opensea and can see a sidebar that displays how much ETH you currently have. Next you need to bridge your ETH to Polygon.

**What is bridging?** **Bridging is the method to convert tokens from one blockchain to another.** We're going to bridge your **ETH into ETH on Polygon.**

**What is Polygon?** Polygon is MATIC. It's the network we set up in your MetaMask earlier and what we'll be using to do our transactions with low gas fees.

So by bridging your ETH to Polygon's ETH, you won't pay any gas fees when minting or biding. To perform the bridge, click on the vertical ellipsis next to the ETH amount.

![](/files/ZcjJbEIXUGLi4xKIA64S)

In the popup click "**Bridge to Polygon".**

![](/files/PQUs0bUrUxF1DqgdF1yW)

**As a next step you** must select how much of your ETH you want to convert. Enter the amount you would like to transfer, then click "**Convert tokens".**

![make sure you select the purple ETH (on Polygon) not the red ETH (WETH)](/files/uf2EKJNsHWBP1swBOkky)

After this you need to confirm the transaction. At this point you will need to pay a gas fee. You just need to pay a gas fee once to convert your ETH to ETH on Polygon. Then with that ETH on Polygon you can basically use our service with close to zero gas fee. So you are saving quite a lot on gas fees in the long run.\
\
1 ETH = 1 ETH on Polygon.\
You can check the current Ethereum gas fees on [etherscan](https://ethereumprice.org/gas/).&#x20;

![](/files/UD6RyZtre2KTcDpp4Is2)

Kindly wait a moment for the transaction to process and the "transaction complete" message to appear.

![](/files/vshdRGSzyiMrgyxrnTpJ)

That's it! Whoo whoo, you made it! With ETH on Polygon you will be able to participate in the ALPHA PASS auctions!\
\
*Btw. don't worry, the transaction can take up to 15 to 40 minutes to go through. The best way to confirm the transaction is complete is tp check on* [*wallet.matic.network*](https://wallet.matic.network/)*.* \
*You will need to login and connect with your MetaMask account, like you already did on opensea.*<br>

# How to buy WETH using your credit card?

With some services it is also possible to buy WETH directly with you credit card. This is probably the fastest way to get WETH.

In this guideline we will use the ramp network.\
First go to [ramp](https://ramp.network/) and click on "**buy now**" and "**buy with ramp**".\
\
Alternatively you can also services like [onramper](https://onramper.com/).

![](/files/fsJ3yVQ88eNEsFtjzJI3)

![](/files/fVgSUaKTCzceXHXwgXwA)

Then select the amount you want to exchange and on the right site click next to the ETH symbol.<br>

![](/files/SNNDoP3l3lT4bx9xU5W2)

In the list choose **MaETH**, thats the term ramp is using for ETH on Polygon.

![](/files/3bdpHr5VNsp2Lua13KEZ)

After you have entered the amount you want to spend and choosen MaETH click on "**proceed**". Then enter your e-mail address and click on "**proceed**" again.

![](/files/a9AuOskZYI83fZRuw9C6)

As a next step you will have to copy and paste your Polygon address. You can also just simple use your ETH address.

![](/files/xcRlgfiwQLdy2DVh5dA8)

Select the preferred payment option and complete the steps required for the chooses payment option. Once you have completed all steps the "**payment successful**" screen will appear. You will also receive a confirmation e-mail.\
\
&#x20;

![](/files/D4RVUbeCVyDEn7a52ufD)

![](/files/LE2a4Sft7LNBsnO0BB1h)

![](/files/5a4HRKwQwLBFzI0HlQbz)

If you do not see your token immediately on your MetaMask wallet you will have to add the token to your wallet. Click on "**import tokens**".

And enter the contract address: 0x7ceb23fd6bc0add59e62ac25578270cff1b9f619\
\
Confirm by clicking on "**add custom token**" and "**import tokens**".

![](/files/ElVI4kpJcH1lN5zZBOVb)

![](/files/4CNcPvvmNlQTFSWBlYlA)

Now you are ready for the ALPHA PASS DROP 2-4!

# Gameplay

### Game 1

Game 1 is a racing game. NANOs compete against each other running down a track, the first one over the line wins.

NANOs use their powergems in order to get advantages over their opponents, they use strong items that can turn the game's result upside-down in the blink of an eye, and they will sprint towards the finish line to make the game thrilling until the very last second.

> Lore:
>
> The winner of a race will gain a charge for their powergem, a charge that can be expended to unlock a Holy Plaque once, giving them a chance to gain admin access to the Nanoverse.

# How to play

Please note: The game is currently in a Beta state - changes can and will happen.

## Get into the Game

In order to play the game, you will need to create an account at [www.metananos.com](https://docs.metananos.com/rumble-race/gameplay/www.metananos.com).

#### Optional: Connect your wallet

If you already have a Polygon wallet, great. You can connect it and use your own NANOs. If you don't already have one - don't worry, you can still play the game.

#### Download the Game

Next, download the launcher for your platform, install it, and let it install the game to your computer. After logging in, you are ready to start the game.

## Menu

1. Select a NANO.
2. Enter a game.

It's as easy as that.

# Racing Battle

This will be the first game of the NANO Metaverse!

### Core Gameplay

Your NANO will run against 7 other NANOs in a straight line. It will automatically run as fast as it can. The first NANO to cross the finish line wins, but the first few places get points for the leaderboard.

## Speed and Stamina

Your NANO has a Speed and a Stamina trait that play a role in the game.

### Speed

The higher your NANO's speed value, the higher its base running speed. Your NANO's base running speed is not constant, though, but it (slightly) fluctuates randomly around its base speed. This is why two different NANOs with the exact same speed value won't be neck-on-neck all the time.

Speed is also influenced by other things like speed-ups, item effects or attacks.

The maximum achievable speed is capped at 150, so stacking speed-ups incorrectly might lose you some optimal strategy.

### Stamina

Stamina is the amount of time that your NANO can "boost". When boosting (usually by pressing the W key), your NANO reaches the maximum speed and holds it as long as its stamina is not used up yet.

Stamina doesn't refill by itself and only refills by using a Stamina Potion.

The maximum possible stamina charge is 100.

## Power Gems

Your NANOs have power gems that they can use for powerful attacks that help you win the race. You can learn more about the different power gems here:

{% content-ref url="/pages/5AlCQyhrUaij6N2g71hL" %}
[Power Gems](/game-metaverse/nanos/power-gems)
{% endcontent-ref %}

The power gems have these effects in Rumble Race:

* Ruby:
  * Attacks another NANO for -30 speed for 3 seconds
* Sapphire:
  * Attacks another NANO for -35 speed for 3 seconds
* Onyx:
  * Attacks another NANO for -35 speed for 5 seconds
* Diamond:
  * Attacks another NANO for -40 speed for 5 seconds
* Cryptonite:
  * Gives your NANO +30 speed for 3 seconds
* Moonstone:
  * Gives your NANO +35 speed for 3 seconds
* Ethernite:
  * Gives your NANO +40 speed for 3 seconds
* HEROstone:
  * Gives your NANO +45 speed for 4 seconds

## Items

Along the track there are item boxes. If you don't already have an item, running through an item box will give your NANO a random item.

The further back you are, the better the items tend to get so that games can turn on their head until the very last second.

# Game Modes

### Training (free to play)

Practice with your NANO and earn leaderboard points. Players can join games without placing a buy-in. It is completely free to play, but you get 20% less leaderboard points when playing with a Free-to-Play NANO.

### Rumble (play to earn)

The Rumble Mode is the game mode that allows you to compete against other players in a competitive setting where the winner(s) get the pot. Every hour, a new "Rumble" starts that will last for exactly an hour. For every Rumble, you can buy a Rumble Pass that will allow you to participate in it. Rumble Passes can be purchased in-game and later also on the website using virtual MATIC. Your entry fee goes towards the pot size, the more players play in a Rumble, the larger the pot gets. The winner (or winners) of a Rumble win the pot. If you don't have any MATIC in your virtual wallet yet to buy Rumble Passes, go to our web page and deposit some MATIC.

After buying a Rumble Pass, 90% of the purchasing price goes towards the pot, 10% will be deducted as fees.

* FAQs
  * How long does a Rumble last exactly?
    * It lasts for exactly one hour, starting at the full hour GMT. A race result counts towards a specific Rumble if the result was communicated to the server within that hour (which happens right after a race finishes). This means that a race that is started at 9:59 will likely count towards the Rumble starting at 10:00, and a race that is started at 10:59 will likely not count towards the 10:00 Rumble anymore.
  * What happens if I'm the only player in a Rumble?
    * As long as you are on the leaderboard of that Rumble, you will just get 100% of your buy-in back. To be on the leaderboard, you have to finish at least one race within that Rumble's timeframe.
  * What happens if I have a Rumble Pass for a Rumble but don't play within this hour?
    * If you don't finish at least one race in this time frame, you won't be on the Rumble leaderboard and therefore not be eligible for any rewards. You effectively made a donation towards the pot.
  * Do I only play against other players with a Rumble Pass?
    * No. You will play in the exact same lobbies as everyone else. Other players in your lobby that don't own a Rumble Pass just don't earn leaderboard points towards the Rumble leaderboard. If lobbies don't fill up with real players quickly enough, we will fill up lobbies with bots. Bots don't earn any leaderboard points and are usually slightly weaker than real players.
  * Do I also earn leaderboard points towards the weekly leaderboard when being in an active Rumble?
    * Yes. When having a Rumble Pass active, you will earn both points towards the Rumble leaderboard as well as towards the weekly leaderboard.
  * Do the leaderboard points for quests count towards the Rumble leaderboard?
    * No. Rewards for quests only go towards the weekly leaderboard, not towards a Rumble leaderboard.

# Progression

## Weekly Leaderboards

Every week, a new leaderboard starts. Win (or do well) in races in order to earn leaderboard points. If you are in the winning ranks of a leaderboard by the end of the week, you will earn a reward directly to your wallet. Rewards can include:

* Cryptocurrencies like WETH or HEROcoin,
* NFTs that customize your in-game look (like player banners, sprays or taunts),
* Alpha Passes,
* NANOs,
* and other cool prices.&#x20;

## Leaderboard Points

The main in-game "currency" are leaderboard points. You can get leaderboard points for the following things (if you play with a F2P-NANO, you get 20% less points for everything):

| Action                   | Points                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 |

| Worthy opponent bonus | If there are not enough human players online, the matches are filled with bot players. Human players are harder to beat, that's why we introduced the "worthy opponent bonus". If you finish within the top 3, you will get 5 extra points for each other human player that participated in the match. |
| Happy Hour | During some time periods (that we usually announce on social media), you can get double the points. |

* Fixed attack powergems sometimes not activating.

Balancing:

* We reduced the speed and stamina of bots

Updates:

* Removed slight speed oscillations of NANOs, which sometimes led to incomprehensible situations within a race.
* The Rumble Mode welcome voucher gives now a 50% discount. We added a more detailed disclaimer about remaining usages and expiration date of the voucher.
* Playing with a F2P NANO, you now get an indicator in the reward screen to make the +20% leaderboard points for playing with a NANO NFT more transparent.
* There have been updates to the UI displaying speed gains and losses.

Known Issues:

## Release 1.2 "Shayla's Broom" (2023-09-13)

* We fixed a rare bug that could cause a slow-down effect to never subside.
* We introduced all-new Stamina boxes that give +20 stamina when picked up.
* Hot Pot Rumbles are now visible days ahead.

## Release 1.1 "Daemon Curse" (2023-08-18)

* We slightly modified the leaderboard point distribution so that the places 4-7 get more points, and it feels less frustrating to come in at 4th place.
* We changed the logic of how the effects of attack power gems stack: Now, their duration doesn't add anymore, giving you a shorter slow-down effect when being hit twice. This also increases the skill and tactic component since it makes less sense to target another NANO with a power gem that is already slowed down by another power gem.
* Moving item boxes no longer give slow-downs so you always feel rewarded if you catch one.
* We adjusted the item probabilities in item boxes for 7th and 8th place.
* We introduced a "Try-Mode" that allows you to try out the game and play your first races without registering.
* We added voucher codes for the Rumble Passes. There will be vouchers that allow you free entries into Rumbles. Look out for them on social media, in newsletters, promotions, or the weekly leaderboard.
* The Rumble Board is now shown before the weekly leaderboard when coming from the menu if you own the current Rumble Pass.
* In the lobby, it is now shown which player owns a Rumble Pass for the current Rumble so you always see directly who is competing with you for the Rumble.
* When you navigate to the webpage from within the game, you will now be automatically logged in on the web page.
* Completely new UI for logging in in the game.
* More small UI adjustments to make the game look even more awesome.

### Major Changes

#### NFT Integration

* The game now loads all your NANO NFTs and collection items from your wallet, and you will be able to join games with them.
* There are 8 new Free-to-Play NANOs that you can use if you either don't have a wallet connected or no NANO NFTs on your connected wallet yet.
* We included a brand-new "Collection". There, you can select which items you want to "equip". The following collection items currently exist (besides your NANO):
  * Taunts: Taunt your opponents in the game with cheeky remarks.
  * Banners: Player banners look good and allow you to personalize your appearance in leaderboards, rankings and the lobby.
  * Sprays: You can now spray cool images onto the racetrack.
  * Boost Particle Effects: They change the appearance of the particles that appear behind you when boosting to give your NANO even more individuality.
* Collection items are (mostly) NFTs. Get them through our leaderboards, buy them on NFT marketplaces, or find them in additional, secret places.

#### Weekly Leaderboards

* Earn leaderboard points by finishing a race on the podium.
